Turn 124

Middex Armory, Command Center, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:50

Phallon and Ragnor make a “sweep” along the base.  What is marked the “vehicle ramp” on the map is hopelessly buried in a rubble of concrete and durasteel supports (would take a massive effort to clear).  Ragnor remembers that it was in this state the last time he was here.  The lower ‘armory’ room is free of ghoolz.  It consists of empty lockers and weapon racks.  They head back to the main door (where they entered Middex Armory), and don’t find any more ghoolz.  The front door is closed.  Looks like the base is free of enemy creatures!

Zeebo determines the infected rooms:  the ones marked in yellow on the map are the ones where you know the virus is present.  As he talks to the Programmers, he realizes there were full on firefights with the ghoolz, where the Programmers involved are dead.  These battles took place in the Newbie sections (rooms 2 and 3 on the map), so it is possible that if ghoolz were slain there, the virus is scattered too (these areas are marked by diagonal yellow lines on the map below).

Commander Mensa fiddles around with the new laptop computer you brought in (and then ignored, to the detriment of your experience points, and some interesting detail).  Tappity tap tap.  “Ahhhh, a log from Ameeka during these troubled times.  Looks like the nosferatu virus can be destroyed by an ancient compound called virolyze.  I believe we may have a small amount in our storage, but nowhere near enough to clear the whole armory…”

This is the point where Zeebo could go try to make some masks, etc.

To sum up:

  • no more active ghoolz in the base
  • many rooms infected with nosferatu virus
  • you may have a small amount of virus killer, and 4 Bio-Cur doses
  • a bunch of starving Programmers, and its winter outside
  • Akton soldiers outside, but held at bay by the door laser
  • see turn 1 for your mission orders (123 turns ago?  really?)

What now?

Turn 123

Middex Armory, Command Center, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:40

Your group is discussing making a “sweep action” to the exit door.  There is the main entry ramp you used previously, protected by the laser turret.  There is also a vehicle entry ramp on the map, but that has been blocked by a cave-in.

Turn 122

Middex Armory, Command Center, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:38

Zeebo gathers up the computer, and you all head back to the command room.  Commander Mensa is still sitting in the same chair, clicking away slowly at the computer in front of him.  As you enter, he looks up.

“Ahhh, how goes it?  Hopefully my bed wasn’t splattered with the brains of some nosferatu.  I would like to be able to use it again.”

Turn 121

Middex Armory, Officer’s Quarters, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:35

Arvak looks at the case.  Ragnor and Phallon stand quietly behind him and observe.  Arvak and Phallon recognize that the box is identical to the one back in the command area which unfolded into a computer.  This one is not plugged into anything.

Arvak tries to figure out how to open it.  No one really saw what Mensa did very well.  IN check + 4CS (12): 8 5 = yellow.  Arvak notices the seems and hinges, he pushes in two finger tabs (one on each side of the box) and unfolds the screen from the rest of the computer.  The screen is blank, but once opened, lights flick on and various clicking sounds emerge from the computer.  Text lights up on the screen which says “Awakening”.

The default screen with all the little program icons lights up.  However a text box appears in the center of the screen, which says “Previous program interrupted.  Continue last program where you left off?”  There is a “yes” and “no” box which can be selected.

Turn 120

Middex Armory, Officer’s Quarters, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:30

This is a summerized search turn.  The heros use a type III ID card and enter the officer’s quarters of Middex Armory.  The hallway continues to the south, although now with a synthetic wood-type floor.  Four doors are in the east wall, each with a etched metal name-plate, indicating a member of the Inner Circle (Mensa, Zelda, Nintondo, Ameka).

You search the rooms in turn.  Each room is spartan, with identical furnishings: A full bed (metal frame, cotton sheets w/ pillow), a wooden desk and wooden chair w/ leather seat, a wooden armoire, and a metal footlocker.  These contain extra clothing (camo fatigues, underwear) and personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, comb, safety razors, shoe polish, etc).

The one extra thing you find is a metal/plastic case sitting on the desk in Ameka’s room.

Turn 119

Middex Armory, Officers’ Lounge, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:25

The four of you head back through the computer room, then the lounge.  The ceiling vent cover still hangs open.  There is a set of child’s tattered clothing on the floor here.  No body, no blood.

The hallway to the Inner Circle Quarters is across the room.
