Middex Armory, Command Center, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:10

Zeebo takes the weapon belt off of the ghool, and Arvak drags them down to st0rage.  Phallon comes over to Zeebo and offers to take the pistol.  Looking at it closely, its a black nylon belt with holster holding a heavy pistol.  It contains 1 full clip and two extra fully loaded clips (8 rounds each, so 24 total).

Phallon is already heavily burdened (full pack, also loaded down with weapons including the combat shotgun) and isn’t moving too fast.  With his current sickness, he’ll have to start making endurance rolls unless he reduces to merely “burdened”.

Now that your eyes are adjusting to the odd dim with red lights, Zeebo notices that there is a small window set into the west door, through which a dim red light can be seen.  (Awareness col 6: 8 8 = green.  Ragnor col 14: 10 0 = white.  Phallon col 12: 30 8 = white.)

The speaker system continues to broadcast the alarm.  Waaaaaaa!!  Waaaaaaa!!  “Repeat, the fusion reactor has become unstable.  All non command and technical staff must evacuate the base immediately!”

Middex Armory, Command Center, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:07

Your group enters the command center, fanning out from the main door.  No one seems to be in the room.  The walls have huge video monitors which are showing lots and lots of symbols.  Some are trade tongue letters and numbers, others are strange symbols you’ve not seen before.  The main controls seem to be arranged in the center of the room, with chairs and consoles facing outward.  There is a door in the north wall, and a heavy-duty reinforced metal door in the west wall.  There are more controls around that door, including a red flashing light on the wall over the doorway.

Zeebo is running through the ruined armory room and into the main hallway.  He has a pounding headache, thanks to running while sick…

Arvak and Ragnor swing their heavy weapons at the ghool.  Ragnor’s hits a mili-second earlier (17): 90 3 = orange.  BD only of 14 – 3ac = 11 points of damage.  The blow cuts off its head.  Arvak’s hammer (16): 9 9 = red.  The severed head is mushed like a melon.  (would have been BD 14 -3ac x 5RF =55 points)

The ghool’z green glow fades away, its arms spasm and let go of Arvak’s legs.

Phallon sticks his monoknife into the corpses back (5): 70 0 = blue.

The hallway is finally still, although fairly messy.  The red glow lights are still on, and a steady alarm is sounding in the background (waaaaaaaa!  waaaaaaaa!)

Phallon quickdraws his monoknife (and his initiative is reduced to 5).

Ragnor swings his battle ax (17): 70 2 = yellow.  BD 14 – 3ac = 11 points of damage.  The blow punctures through the armor, and into the ghool’z side.  When its wrenched out, there is an awful smell and its guts start to plop out.  It really doesn’t look so good, yet it keeps on going.

Arvak grabs on and tries to pull it off (wrestling 19 – 2CS for the hold = 17): 2 6 = white.

The ghool and Phallon act simultaneously.  The ghool clings to Arvak, bites (11): 50 5 = blue hit.  1 point of damage done.  It burns (X): 70 0 = yellow.  BD 2 x 3RF = 6 points of burn damageHp down to 44.

Phallon tries to slice it with his monoknife.  (7 – 2CS for sickness = 5): 60 9 = blue.  Minor flesh wound and no apparent effect.

Turn 106: Arvak, Phallon, Ragnor

Ghool 1 shimmys up and wraps his arms around Arvak’s legs (11): 80 2 = green hold.  Bites (11): 90 7 = orange.  His teeth sink into flesh (alas, not the leg with scale armor!) BD 1 x 4 = 4 points of damage, plus exposure to infection again.  The creature glows green (seen between the joints of its sheath armor) and heat washes over everyone (X): 80 1 = orange.  Burns Arvak for BD 2 x 4 = 8 points of burn damage.  Arvak down to 51 hp.

Ghool 2 lowers its arm and tries to grab (1-3 Phallon, 4-6 Ragnor: 5) Ragnor.  (11 – 1 RF for lack of arm): 40 6 = white.  Bites (11): 30 7 = white.

Arvak brings his hammer about (18 – 2CS hold = 16): 1 7 = white.  He tries to step back to give himself room for the hammer blow, becomes unbalanced by the clinging ghool, and misses.  (CLANG!!)

Phallon fires his shotgun (9): 80 1 = green.  The blast tears through the desert camo uniform, spraying out flesh and goo.  Unfortunately, the blast doesn’t seem to affect the ghool much at all.

Ragnor brings his ax down (17): 90 4 = orangeBD of 14.  The blow cleaves through the ghoolz skull, sticking into it.  The ghool twitches violently a few times, then drops into a heap.  Ragnor easily pulls his ax free (his massive strength lifts the dead ghool into the air for a moment before it splats back to the floor).

Turn 103: Zeebo

Commander Mensa swivels around slowly in the office chair.  “No no no, my dear doctor, that will not do.  No one can have a dose of Bio-Cur until we are all clear of this armory.  Imagine this:  you are cured of the nosferatu virus, only to pick it up again as you walk through an infected room.  It makes me shudder to think of such a waste of ancient technology.  We will safe-keep these 4 doses of Bio-Cur for the moment.  Perhaps you should see how your minions fare…”

Turn 105: Arvak, Phallon, Ragnor

Arvak’s hammer (18): 8 9 = orange hit.  BD only of (14 – 3AC) = 11.  Ghool PS vs slam (11): 10 5 = white.  Arvak swings his hammer around in a tight arc, and smashes ghool 1 in the thigh.  There is a loud cracking sound of breaking bone.  The ghool is slammed backwards into the doorway and collapses in a heap.  At first it looks like it is dead, but then it starts to crawl back towards Arvak, clacking its pointy teeth.

Phallon’s sun ray hands (10): 80 3 = green.  BD 6 x 2RF = 12 points of burn damage.  Ugh, roasting ghool flesh is pretty nasty.  Phallon’s fear generation (12): 50 9 = blue.  Ghool MS save on fear table (8): 50 7 = blue, so ghool 2 at 1/2 columns for actions.  The ghool suddenly lets go of Phallon and steps back a pace.

Ragnor chops at ghool 2 with his ax (17): 70 4 = yellow.  The blow cleaves off its left arm, doing BD only of 14.

Ghool 1 doesn’t get an attack due to being slammed.  Ghool 2 raises its one remaining arm in front of it as if to ward off a blow and tries to back away.

Turn 104: Arvak, Phallon, Ragnor

Middex Armory, Hallway outside Command Center, Klos 4th, 350AC, 14:05

Phallon fires the shotgun.  Column 8 + 4CS for aiming + 3CS for shotgun bonus -2CS for sickness = 13.  Due to the situation, I will have the second ghool take damage at -1RF of the roll.  (13): 20 1 = white.  As the ghoolz duck and charge, Phallon aims too high and the shot sprays over their heads.  Loud blast, smoke filled hallway, ringing ears.

Ragnor swings his battleax at ghool 2.  After modified for PS and sickness, col (17): 60 1 = green hit.  The ax tears through the ghool’z side, flinging out one of its kidneys and some other meaty bits.  Doesn’t seem to slow it down at all.

Arvak swings his hammer at ghool 1.  (18): 1 0 = white.  Not even close.

Ghool 1 goes after (1-3 Phallon, 4-6 Arvak:  5) Arvak.  Tries to grapple (11): 20 5 = white.  Bites (11): 60 2 = blue.  Doesn’t penetrate armor.

Ghool 2 goes after (1-3 Phallon, 4-6 Ragnor:  1) Phallon.  Grapple (11): 70 9 = green hold.  Bites (11): 40 9 = blue so armor blocks it this turn.  Burns (X): 00 3 = white.

With you all in position, and ghoolz scratching like mad on the far side, Arvak opens the door.  Their are two ghoolz before you, about to spill out and attack.  Ghool 1 wears desert camo, ghool 2 has sheath armor.  Phallon, aiming with a ranged weapon gets an extra +6 on initiative.  Ragnor gets a +1 (Arvak doesn’t, since he had to hit the open button).

Turn 102: Zeebo

Middex Armory, Machine Shop, Klos 4th, 350AC

The gel at the end of the Cur-in dose slowly turns from clear to murky as the minutes tick away.  After what seems like forever, it seems to dissolve and mix with the fluid filling the rest of the syringe.  It turns a light blue color and seems to be giving off light.

Mensa says, “Congratulations, Doctor, Bio-Cur achieved.”  You now have 3 regular Cur-in doses and 1 Bio-Cur.

It takes about 10 minutes to convert one to the other.  You have plenty of ghool powder to create the other 3 if you want.
